In Loving Memory of Howard Nelson Turner

Donation protected
On May 27th, 2022, the world lost Howard Nelson Turner, "Howie" to many, "son" to Boswell Turner and Sherry Luhman, "Dad" to Chelsea, Calvin, Chris and Cody Turner, "brother" to Jason Turner, Sue Thomas Lamoreaux and Sheryl Blount, and "Uncle Howie" to Carolyn, Tyler, Grace and Faith Turner, Kenneth and Patrick Blount Jr. and Chelsea Lamoreaux. Howie had suffered from diabetes and as a result, was prone to heart issues. Because of this, he had had a double bypass about 10 years ago, and very recently suffered from a minor heart attack. After being admitted to the hospital last week, doctors put in a stent and said that he didn't need open heart surgery. Howie was set to be released on May 27th from the hospital but unexpectedly a massive blood clot broke free and got lodged in his lungs which put too much pressure on his weakened and already damaged heart, sending him into full cardiac arrest.

Howie was many things to many people, but above all, he was a man of faith. One of his greatest passions and joys in life was talking about his unwavering faith in God. Howie was not only a God-fearing man, he was a loving man to all. Howie was encouraging, but also had a "tough love" way about him. Oftentimes, he was a man of few words, but he was also a man that would crack jokes and chime in with his two cents just to make you laugh and put a smile on your face. Howie was not a man of many emotions, but he would tell you he loved you by grilling you some of his famous BBQ. He was AMAZING behind the grill. Howie was a handyman, and had recently started his own business making beautiful, custom, adirondack furniture. He was crafty and loved working with his hands. He was kind, but he was also blunt. He was truthful, and wouldn't just tell you what you wanted to hear. Howie could make conversation with anyone, but he also was never the type of person to try to be anything but himself. He said what was on his mind and you always knew that what he was saying he meant. He was real, and genuine. Howie was also one of the most supportive people you could ever meet and he was always the first one to tell you how proud of you he was. Howie was a selfless man. He never really wanted the attention to be on him, and he didn't ask for much in this life.

It is very rare that you meet someone as humble and as selfless and content, as Howie. Howie might not have wanted any attention on him, but he was someone that deserved it the most. In order to give him the proper funeral and celebration of life that he deserves, his family is asking for any and all help that we can get.

"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it." Matthew 7:13-14
