In Loving Memory of Hoy Kim

Hi everyone, my name is Betty Som. I am one of the youngest daughters of Hoy Kim. I wanted to create this gofundme on behalf of my father Sokhon Som.

Our beloved mother has passed away on February 17th, 2023. She was born on May 4, 1948. She was fighting an underlying illness. It gives us a peace of mind that she is no longer suffering and in pain. My mom was such an amazing, kind, generous, and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She is loved by many and will be missed so dearly. We now have an angel looking over us. We're going to miss her laughter, smile, lectures, cooking, her unconditional love and most importantly, her presence. She was always cooking for us and giving us everything we need even we’re all adults. She never stopped treating us like babies. She loved all of her grandkids and everyone. She has always put everyone before her even when her health was declining. She leaves behind her 5 kids Vichet, Chanda, Dara, myself (Betty) and Phola and her loving husband, Sokhon, her grandkids Lakana, Vince, Tommac, Tommy, Nathan, Brianna, Dallas and Zenna.

We want to give my mom the memorial she deserves, to honor her memory and say our last goodbyes. I am currently asking for donations to help cover the cost of her funeral. Any amount will help and we appreciate the help.
