In Loving Memory of Jenni Claire Garverick

On Monday, May 18th Jenni tragically suffered a cerebral aneurysm and was placed on life support. She fought valiantly for two weeks and ultimately succumbed to her injuries. Surrounded by loved ones, Jenni passed away on Sunday, May 31st. Sadly she leaves behind her beautiful girls, Lillian Rose, Stella Frances Maria, Iris Jayne, and Eleanor June. Along with her loving husband, Lynn.

Her loss will be greatly felt by so many but first and foremost by her daughters and husband. Jenni was an incredibly devoted mother who made sure her daughters always felt loved and supported. No task was ever too big for Jenni. Whether she was making special homemade ice cream for a birthday, driving someone to a softball practice/game, or creating the backdrop for a talent show, she consistently demonstrated her deep love for her girls. Her husband Lynn is devastated by the loss of his soul mate. Jenni and Lynn met while teaching at Prairie Elementary. Both have always expressed the immediate connection they felt when they met.  They have had unwavering love and admiration for each other since 1998.

Jenni had a big heart and a soft spot for animals and the underdog. As a volunteer at the Sacramento Shelter Pets Alive- PB SOC, she was able to share her immense love and compassion for animals. During this time, she fostered two dogs who, not surprisingly, she ended up adopting. Her first adoption was a brindle pitbull that she named Henry. Henry was the second love of her life…with Lynn being top dog, of course. She would love to take Henry for early morning walks and play a good game of “tug” with him. She would often share posts of her beloved Henry on Facebook. Her second adoption was a black and white pitbull named Dogzilla. “Zilly” or “Pup”, as Jenni lovingly called her, was just supposed to stay with the Garvericks until a forever home was found. But of course Jenni and her family fell in love, so she became another member of the Garverick family. Jenni’s family most definitely included her fur babies.

Jenni wowed many with her artistic talents and can-do attitude. From banners to wreaths, one way that Jenni expressed her creativity was through felt. She was incredibly skilled in making creations with felt and a hot glue gun. She even started her own successful business, felt deluxe, on Esty. There she sold many beautiful wreaths and banners for sports teams and Girl Scouts. Felt was not the only medium Jenni used to create unique products. She also enjoyed working with oil cloth to create such things as pencil bags and utensil holders. Jenni was so talented that she was asked to sell her incredible products at the Kitchen Table shop. Aside from selling her products, Jenni was a kind and generous friend who was quick to offer up her banner making abilities to anyone in need of a birthday or special event sign. Many of her friends are blessed to have a Jenni creation.

Jenni had a great love of the holidays. Her home was always creatively and festively decorated. In the fall Jenni and the girls would make themed scarecrows out of hay and display them on the front lawn. It was always fun to drive up to the Garverick home to see what the scarecrows would be dressed as. Jenni also enjoyed expressing her creativity by making her girls’ Halloween costumes. No costume was too abstract or difficult for Jenni to design and sew. Every Christmas she loved to come up with a new color scheme and would make decorations to match the chosen scheme. She always made her home feel magical and warm. The holidays were definitely a showcase for Jenni's artistic talents.

It is with a heavy heart that I set up this Go fund me page to help the Garverick Family navigate the coming months. This heartbreaking event is amplified with the current pandemic preventing family, friends, loved ones, and colleagues, from surrounding Lynn and the children with your presence and love.

You can show your love and support to Lynn and the girls by contributing financially to help with bills and other expenses. Your contribution will help alleviate financial stress and allow Lynn to focus on the girls.

Please keep Lynn, Lillian, Stella, Iris, and Eleanor in your thoughts and prayers during this heartbreaking time.
