In Loving Memory of Jennifer Janzer
Donation protected
We are at a complete loss to share the news that our beloved Jennifer Janzer is no longer with us anymore. Jenny was diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension (PH) at the age of 11 years old. PH is a terminal, chronic illness that affects 1% of people globally. The cause is not known and there is no cure. It is a terrifying and progressive disease that affects both the heart and lungs.
At the time of her diagnosis, Jenny was told that she would probably not live past 20. Despite this horrifying news, Jenny continued to live with more life in her than many people on this earth. She fought with fire for 23 more years, passing on just shy of her 34th birthday, this past Friday Morning, July 21st at 1:58 AM. Those 23 years were filled with many extreme highs and extreme lows - so much love, joy, smiles, laughter, amazement, hope, picture-taking, grime-chasing, lichen-hunting, rock-collecting, singing (and scream-singing), dancing, admiration and awe for the world and everything in it; but also so much suffering, sadness, confusion, fear, anger, grief, and so, so much pain. Jenny was a warrior, and our hero - the strongest and bravest soul we have ever known. We are completely heartbroken but trying to find peace in knowing that Jenny is no longer in pain and can finally be free.
To know Jenny was to love Jenny. And if Jenny knew you, you knew she loved you. Her love for life and everyone and everything in it was endless and contagious and she made it well known. We are all better humans for the time we were blessed to spend with her on this earth.
We are reaching out to our community to help lift up and support our family in this time of need. We are gratefully accepting any donations you are able to make to help with the emergency medical expenses and funerary services. And if you are unable to donate, we are asking that you please share, and pass along a favorite memory of Jenny while you do it. There will be a celebration of life at a later date to come together in her memory.
As one of Jenny’s favorite artists Ramshackle Glory wrote in one of her favorite songs:
“Your heart is a muscle the size of your fist. Keep on loving. Keep on fighting. And hold, hold on - hold on for your life.”
Love to you all.
