In Loving Memory of Jesus Giovanny Ocampo

There’s no words to describe what we’re currently going through. On Saturday night, my brother Gio was robbed of his life by an inconsiderate human being who was only looking for problems. My three brothers stepped into a liquor store when an unknown young man walked in and opened fire on them, striking my brothers Giovanny and Daniel. They were both rushed to Illinois Masonic hospital where paramedics and nurses fought till the very last minute to revive my brother Gio. Unfortunately, my brother took his last breath at around 1:50am. Daniel is still fighting for his life and will be undergoing a second surgery tomorrow.

Anyone who knew my brother knew how outgoing and happy he was. Always. His heart was made of gold and he’d give his life up for any of his siblings. And that’s exactly what he did. He gave up his life to protect his two younger brothers. Anyone who knew him, knew how much he loved his family. And now, all that we have left of him are his memories. Words can’t explain the emptiness we are feeling. We’re all just hoping to wake up from this nightmare. We’d do anything to have him back with us, to hear his contagious laugh, to get one more hug from him but unfortunately that is no longer possible. I ask that you please pray for my family in these times of need. If you find it in your heart to make a donation, my family and I would greatly appreciate it. No hay palabras para describir lo que estamos pasando ahorita. El sábado por la noche, a mi hermano Gio le robaron la vida por un ser humano desconsiderado que sólo buscaba problemas. Mis tres hermanos entraron a una licorería cuando un joven desconocido entró y abrió fuego contra ellos, hiriendo a mis hermanos Giovanni y Daniel. Ambos fueron trasladados de urgencia al hospital Masonic de Illinois, donde los paramédicos y enfermeras lucharon hasta el último minuto para revivir a mi hermano Gio. Desafortunadamente, mi hermano tomó su último aliento alrededor de la 1:50 a.m. Daniel sigue luchando por su vida y mañana será sometido a una segunda cirugía.

Quien conoció a mi hermano sabía lo extrovertido y feliz que era. Siempre. Su corazón estaba hecho de oro y daría su vida por cualquiera de sus hermanos. Y eso es exactamente lo que hizo. Dio su vida para proteger a sus dos hermanos menores. Quien lo conoció sabía cuánto amaba a su familia. Y ahora, lo único que nos queda de él son sus recuerdos. Las palabras no pueden explicar el vacío que sentimos. Todos esperamos despertar de esta pesadilla. Haríamos cualquier cosa por tenerlo de vuelta con nosotros, por escuchar su risa contagiosa, por recibir un abrazo más de él pero lamentablemente eso ya no es posible. Les pido que oren por mi familia en estos momentos de necesidad. Si encuentran en su corazón hacer una donación, mi familia y yo lo agradeceríamos mucho.
