In Loving Memory of John Thiessen

I want to start this GoFundMe for a truly exceptional human who dedicated so many hours to so many people and gave so generously to all.

This GoFundMe provides a place that those of us who know and love John and are so proud of his selfless, endless, generous, hard work caring for our unhoused can send a donation that will go to support the local unhoused community that John served daily.

John ALWAYS treated everyone with kindness, dignity, compassion and respect. He held a special place in his heart for the unhoused, and was their advocate, their voice, and he listened to their stories without judgement (beautiful words borrowed from Tamara). John’s last social media post - His last day on this planet was helping the homeless. I wish we were all this compassionate (beautiful words borrowed from Sandy).

It is my promise that if you feel inclined to donate, the funds collected will go towards John’s true passion, helping our unhoused (In John’s Honour!) and a portion of the funds will go to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in memory of John. Let’s also remember that every little bit helps (he was soooo proud to show the last $2 etransfer donation and he was so grateful for it as well!)

My thoughts, prayers, and most sincere condolences go out to all who know and love him.
