The Brothers of the Delta Kappa Chapter of Beta Theta Pi at the University of Tennessee are heartbroken to share the tragic loss of our beloved brother and friend, Jonathan “Johnny” Dawson, who was taken from us far too soon in the early hours of Wednesday, April 23, 2025.

A Life on the Cusp of Greatness

Just three weeks from graduation and standing on the edge of his next grand adventure, Johnny’s life was cut short in its prime. He had his eyes set on the future, ready to take on the world with the same passion, loyalty, and bright spirit that made him unforgettable to everyone who knew him.

Whether he was cheering on the Vols in Neyland Stadium or showing up for his brothers in ways big and small, Johnny was the kind of person who made you feel seen, valued, and loved.

Johnny’s energy, kindness, and laugh were unforgettable. His presence made life better — and his absence is leaving a space that can never be filled.

How You Can Help

There are no words that can fully express the magnitude of this heartbreak. But in this time of overwhelming grief, we are turning to our extended community for help.

This fundraiser has been created to assist with the significant and unexpected expenses his family is now facing, including:

• Transportation to bring Johnny home to Tampa, Florida
