Jose Alfredo Holguin, ( 1961 - 2020)
He was a man who knew the meaning of struggle and perseverance. from an early age, he learned to work hard and push forward. from extreme poverty to becoming a successful business owner and community leader, Holguin was the epitome of a self-made man who maintain his humility.
In 2011, he was forced to flee and leave everything he had built behind after the cartel retaliated against him for refusing to stand down and pushing for justice. the cartel burnt down part of his fleet and merciless killed his sin in retribution.
As he started his journey towards, asylum, Holguin continued to speak-up and would later become the President of "Mexicanos en Exilio". Through this position, Holguin carried the voices and concerns of his fellow exiles and continued denouncing the violence and corruption in Mexico.
Throughout all of these experiences , Holguin remained a positive and charismatic man. he became a beacon of hope for those who interacted with him as he showed them kindness in the mists of struggle.
Unfortunately, Holguin was never able to gain asylum and recently succumbed to COVID-19. We lost a fighter, a friend, an inspiration, but will never forget the lessons and legacy he left behind. he touched everyone he met and will always remain with us.
Today, we encourage you to donate for his funeral expenses. He is survived by his wife, his children and siblings, and as we can imagine, they are devastated for their loss, and still have to struggle with this unexpected financial hardship.
We ask you for your generous contribution, we ask you to help out just a little, for this unfortunate incident.
100% of your contributions are going straight to Holguin's family. we know that we can count on you.
Thank you and God bless!

Jose Alfredo Holguin
