It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jose Luis Montes, which occurred on February 25, 2021. He is survived by his beloved wife Carmen Montes; father of Edgar Montes (Sandra Lewinska-Montes), Erika Molina (James Molina), Naleen Montes (Marcos Cortes); loving grandfather of Natalyah Molina, James Molina, Kaylei Molina, Izayah Montes, Sloan Montes. Family and friends are invited to a service on March 4th, 2021 at 10am at Santa Maria del Popolo in Mundelein (116 N. Lake St. Mundelein, IL 60060).
Our dear Jose Luis tested positive for COVID-19 mid December 2020. Shortly after, he was diagnosed with pneumonia and moved to the ICU. He was put into a medically induced coma and was put on a ventilator on January 1st.
Jose Luis was a fighter - a fighter for his family, a fighter in the dojo as a respected sensei and a fighter when battling COVID/pneumonia.
Aside from being an amazing husband, devoted father and loving grandfather, Jose Luis was extremely involved in the Santa Maria del Popolo church in Mundelein. From directing church plays to being leader of the Cultural group for over 20 years. He was a fourth degree black belt and master of a karate school for children and adults within his community. He was incredibly respected by his peers, colleagues and family and has made an enormous impact on many, many lives.
Your donations will be used to help with medical bills, funeral costs and daily living bills and expenses for his wife, Carmen. Your generosity, prayers and support is extremely appreciated by his entire family.
