In Loving Memory of Kalix Langeneau

"Tonight our family has been hit with an overwhelming loss. Our worst fears as parents have been realized and we have been told that our son will not be coming home. Our hearts are shattering and the immeasurable grief is suffocating. We have lost a son, a brother, a grandson, a nephew, a friend. We are respectfully asking for privacy during this time. We thank and appreciate everyone for sharing the posts and for the out pouring of love and support. We will continue to need prayers, love and strength as we move forward into some of our darkest and most painful days."

The death of a child is something no family should ever have to endure. It brings a heart wrenching sadness that few people can fathom. At the same time it brings financial costs that become an added stress for the family at a time when they feel unable to deal with even normal everyday stresses.

It is our hope that we can come together as a community and show Betina, John  and Tracy that they are not alone in their grief and heartache. We cannot take away their heartbreak, but we can help lessen the financial stress of saying goodbye to their much loved son. Together we can take that burden from them and let them do what they do best: be loving parents to Kalix and focus on grieving together as a family during this time.

We are thankful for any support you may be able to provide. We also encourage everyone to keep the family in their thoughts and prayers.

(Please note, any funds raised over and above the cost of the funeral will be put aside for Kalix's siblings for their future, and potentially a legacy scholarship in Kalix's honour.)
