In Loving Memory of Kyrie Barnes

On the night of July 2, seven year old Kyrie Barnes lay in bed with his mom and 2 siblings. Fireworks could be heard throughout the neighborhood as people celebrated the coming holiday. That sound later turned into gunshots. In the midst of this reckless shooting, a stray bullet entered the apartment that Kyrie occupied with his family, striking the young innocent boy. He was rushed to the hospital and placed on life support. Unfortunately, Kyrie succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on July 5, 2023. Kyrie's family and loved ones continue to mourn the loss of such a vibrant spirit. Gone so soon, and unexpectedly due to the senseless behavior of someone who has yet to be identified. The family is asking for continued prayers and donations to assist with Kyrie's memorial and medical bills. Donations will also aid the single, now mom of two, as she seeks some form of normalcy for herself and her surviving children, to include advocating for their mental health, as they recover from witnessing this tragic event that happened in the place they had just begun to call home. A balloon release will be held for Kyrie on Wednesday July 12, 2023 at 1625 Gross Road Mesquite, Texas from 7:30-8:30 pm.
