In Loving Memory of Les Suvee

Donation protected

Hi, my name is Thea and I am creating this gofundme for my best friend Amber Suvee. Sadly, and suddenly she lost her father on March 1st in a motor vehicle accident. He was clearing the BC highways to ensure safe commute for others come morning and, tragically, his plow fell off the highway. He passed away on impact.

Leslie (Les) Richard Suvee, April 6th, 1971 - March 1st 2025, was a fun loving, never formal, and always laughing guy. He would protect anyone with everything he had and was the first to volunteer when someone needed a helping hand, he would give you the shirt off his back if that's what you asked for. He was creative and loved making things, he almost always had a project going in his backyard shop. If you were in a bad mood, he was the best at making you feel better and he never shied away from being a support net for someone going through a hard time. There wasn't a room that he couldn't fill with light through his goofy sense of humour, huge smile, and generous spirit. Cars, motorcycles, trucks and pretty much anything with an engine garnered his attention, he had a passion for driving them, riding them, and talking about them. He dedicated his work to ensuring everyone got to go home to their family at the end of the day, and sadly wasn't given the same in return. He was a son, father, partner, brother, cousin, friend, and more. He will be remembered and missed by everyone who met him.

Let me tell you a little bit about who Amber is - she is Les Suvee's only child and sole next of kin and unfortunately her adult years have not been easy on her. Five years ago her mother had a life altering brain injury, at the same time that her grandmother, Les's mom, passed away from cancer. From the aftermath of that Amber was left to take care of her mother, and, grieve and take care of her kookums estate with Les - in two different provinces. In the following two years she was in two different, not at fault, car accidents that have taken her away from work and left her on disability working with physiotherapists, massage therapists, nerve specialists, and a team of many other healthcare professionals to overcome chronic pain and get back to life and work. Four months ago she lost her grandpa, a huge support in her life and has since taken a larger role in her surviving grandmothers life. Just as life has started to calm down and the pain from her losses became manageable her father, who she considered one of the most important people in her life, has passed away with no warning. She was informed through a phone call on Saturday evening that her life was about to look incredibly different.

I tell you all of this to give you some insight into someone who, to those who see her regularly, appears to have it all figured out, someone you may think the sun chose to shine through, someone who has never let a bad situation keep her from loving those around her and living in the moment, someone who has had more bad fortune than one 22 year old should have to handle. Without added circumstance the loss of her father would be heartbreaking, life altering and emotionally unmanageable. With the context of her adult life it has become so much more - it has become a financial weight too heavy for her to carry, something that is taking away from her grieving and causing an abundant amount of stress. she must take care of his estate, which due to him expecting many more love filled years was not in perfect shape for someone else to take over, and handle what remains of her kookums estate - all while travelling back and forth between Alberta and BC.

I am asking for financial help. While many of us, myself included, wish we could take away the heartache and grief, or handle everything for her so that she could focus only on building herself back up after this horrible event, we can't. What we can do is help her out by taking away some of the financial burden and giving her the time and peace of mind to make the best decisions about everything Les was and has left behind. Please consider donating what you can and sharing this GoFundMe with your kind words about Les.

Thank you, and I am sorry to everyone who loved him and is facing this tremendous loss.
