In Loving Memory of Les Thompson
Donation protected
As we all continue to grapple with the sudden loss of our dear friend and family member, Les Thompson, I would like to take a moment of your time.
If you were lucky enough to know Les, you knew him as a loving and supportive husband to his wife, Catherine. A cherished brother, cousin, and son to his family. A loyal and dear friend to a varied and wide group of people lucky enough to know him from childhood and beyond. And in what I think he always considered his most important role, as a devoted father to his son, Jack.
While we are all left reeling from the enormous loss his sudden passing has left, it is Catherine and Jack who will feel his absence the greatest. Jack just lost his greatest cheerleader in life. It is in this spirit that we have decided to start a fundraiser for Jack in order to help him through his next steps into adulthood without Les by his side.
Jack is at that tender age where he is at the beginnings of “finding himself” and figuring out what he wants to do next. His father always played a crucial role of “guiding light” and, while we know he is surrounded by family that love him dearly, including his mother, Suzanne, we would like to help him on his way. We know he is planning on moving from Tucson and, possibly, will be moving back to California. But he is also considering relocating to the Pacific Northwest to pursue his music.
Jack is an amazing musician in his own right. He has plans to pursue his dreams in music and whatever else may appear on his horizon. We would love to play a small part in helping him through this most difficult time.
No amount of money will ever replace the role his father played in his life but perhaps giving Jack some financial breathing room to grieve, and sort things out right now, will be a small token toward helping him heal.
