In Loving Memory of Lorraine Guyer

Lorraine Guyer our mom, grandmother, wife, sister, aunt and dearest friend to all who knew her passed away on Wednesday April 26th. We are all shocked and devastated by her loss. With her passing, Lorraine leaves behind her husband of 40 years, 3 beautiful children and her favorite of all, her 2 year old grandson. 2 years ago she received a double lung transplant, her main reason for going through the cost and recovery of this surgery was to spend more time with her grandson and her children. Lorraine was a rock to her family, and the loss will be hard. For the last 35+ years Lorraine has worked with different nonprofits, most recently Alzheimer’s Resource of Alaska, where she met and made many friends. Many of you may know that Lorraine Guyer had a very complicated medical history, she had to move to Seattle away from her family to be put on the transplant list and even then wasn’t guaranteed the surgery. When she got the call that lungs were available she could only count down the days to getting back home. She made it through the surgery and was able to come home less than 3 months post transplant. And even though her lungs now worked great she did have some other medical issues, unfortunately she couldn’t be as strong this time.
