Malachi Omari Capers, was born on December 1, 1999, in Brooklyn, New York, he left this world on January 20, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. He was the beloved son of LaShawna Moye Capers and Omar R. Capers, and the cherished eldest sibling among his two sisters and his younger brother.
Malachi received his early education in Brooklyn NY. He moved to Queens at the age of 6 years old attending PS 33. He then went on to IS 109 where he graduated with honors. Malachi graduated Flushing Highschool where he discovered his love for playing football. He entered Buffalo State University with a scholarship to be a part of the Football Programs defensive team. His most recent achievement was attending Middlesex County College where he made the dean’s List. Malachi was a student of life and always continued his love for learning. He was a Psychology major and wanted to pursuit a degree in Astro Physics.
Malachi received Christ at an early age. He was baptized at Queensborough Temple where he developed a strong relationship with the Lord. As he grew older he strengthened this spirituality and proclaimed himself a man of God.
He was a source of strength for his siblings and a pillar of support for his mom. Malachi leaves to cherish his memories to his mother LaShawna Moye Capers, his siblings Shaniya (21), Kayla (14), Aleem (7). His grandparents Joanne Lekhram & Vish Lekhram, Larry Moye, Joanne Capers, and Dennis Capers. As well as a lot of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Friends.
Malachi’s smile could light up the darkest room, and his laughter was contagious, bringing joy to those fortunate enough to share his company. Malachi was a very respectable, kind, and helpful young man. His presence illuminated the lives of those around him with his warm and compassionate nature. He touched the hearts of family and friends alike, creating a lasting impact that will be remembered with fondness. His departure leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Malachi's journey may have come to an end, but the love and memories he leaves behind will continue to inspire and uplift those who knew him. As we mourn his passing, let us also celebrate the beautiful soul that touched our lives and find solace in the cherished moments we shared with him.
Malachi Omari Capers will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who carry his memory forward. May he rest in eternal peace.
