In Loving Memory of Mario Caputo

On Sunday, February 7th at 1:03 PM we lost our beloved father, husband, grandfather, and friend, Mario Caputo.
That Sunday morning, he got out of bed full of energy and made his wife, Paola Caputo, breakfast. He made himself an espresso, as he did everyday, as part of his morning routine. He was full of joy and talking with me about the chores/to do list for the day around the house. As Mario was speaking to me, he suddenly went silent and collapsed to the floor.
After calling 911, the paramedics arrived within 5 minutes. They performed life saving procedures on him. He was transported to Chandler Regional Medical Center where he was pronouced deceased. He passed from a sudden cardiac arrest.
This was extremely unexpected as Mario was in fairly good health and excited about life, improving his health and exercising more and more. He would often walked at Desert Breeze Park and do 5-6 laps around the park.
Mario started Bell Italia Pizzeria with his family in May of 2002. He had a passion for good food, good company, and great conversation. He loved serving customers who started off as patrons of the restaurant but quickly became friends and extended family. He was able to light up a room, make you laugh, and would always know your name. Mario was so happy that he was able to serve his community for nearly 20 years at Bell Italia Pizzeria.
We are all still in shock and grieving at the sudden loss of such a great man. We know he will be dearly missed by everyone he has come in contact with as he touched many lives.
Being that this was so sudden and unexpected, we have been receiving request from many people as to where to donate. We've created this GoFundMe fundraiser to aid the Caputo family with Mario's funeral and medical expenses. We appreciate everyone's love and support.
