In loving memory of Mark Richard Morley

Donation protected
Mark Richard Morley, born February 16th, 1955, in Snohomish, Washington, passed away unexpectedly on August 17th, 2024, though he had been facing medical challenges in recent months.

Mark was born to Mike "Papa" and Margaret "Mama" Morley and was one of ten siblings. While he’s now reunited with four of his siblings who passed before him, he leaves behind five along with extended family, who will no doubt keep his spirit alive with their endless stories about growing up together.

Mark is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Diane, who was not only his partner in life but his best friend. Together, they raised three children: Justen, Jamie, and Jaime. His granddaughter, Hailey, though, was his absolute favorite sparring partner. They fought like siblings over the silliest things, mostly for laughs. According to Hailey, Mark always had to be the center of attention, and truth be told, she wasn’t wrong—he had a knack for stealing the spotlight, but in a way that made everyone around him smile (or shoot him with Nerf guns).

At the age of 15, Mark moved with his family to Whidbey Island, where he found his true home and remained for the rest of his life. He loved Whidbey, whether it was spending time with family or hunting for treasures (which usually meant old tractors, random tools, or even stockpiling paper towels—you never know when those might come in handy). If there was something rusty or overlooked, Mark would see its potential.

Above all else, Mark loved his family fiercely and would do anything for them. Particularly for Diane, whom he lovingly cared for as she battles Primary Progressive MS. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to assist with Diane’s ongoing medical care which is exactly what Mark would have wanted.

Mark's passing leaves a massive hole in our hearts. However, his memory will live on in the love he showed, the treasures he found, and the laughter he brought to everyone around him.

A public service is not planned at this time.
