In Loving Memory of Mary Gibson

Hi everyone,

My name is Cody Gibson, I am the son of Mary Gibson, whom after a long hard battle with brain cancer went home to be with God and my Dad on August 2nd. She put up a monumentally courageous fight, and will be remembered forever for her kindness, selflessness, and love.

Since February, our family has honored her wishes of being at home until the end and we happily fulfilled that mission, but are now in need of a little bit of help. In doing so we sacrificed much to ensure that every day she was comforted by family and friends. Throughout the process, my family relied primarily on my father’s life insurance as our source of income, paying her mortgage, utilities, internet, cable, medical expenses, as well as my own rent, car payment and other miscellaneous bills out of the same pot. It was tight, but we made it pretty much right to the finish line without much left over.

Today, we finalized mom’s funeral expenses and I put forth 50% as a required deposit with the remaining balance to be taken out of our life insurance beneficiary payments. Between the casket, cremation, service, flower spray, pastor, and other miscellaneous costs associated I had to max out my 3 credit cards to come up with the cost of around $4,000 for a fairly straight forward and not overly extravagant service.

I ask you all today to help out however you can if you can. Everything raised here will go directly back toward her expenses and getting everything paid off and off my credit cards so mom can have a wonderful service and my family can move forward accordingly in her memory.

Those of you that know me, know I don’t like asking for this type of thing, but if there was ever a time we needed it, that time would be now.

We appreciate each and every one of you dearly, and I appreciate the continued love and support that has been shown to us through these trivial times.
