It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mayra, who bravely fought a year-long battle with Ewing sarcoma. At 38 years old, Mayra left us too soon, but her legacy of love and strength endures through her beloved son, Matias, who will be turning 2 years old next month.

Mayra embodied the essence of a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, godmother, cousin, niece, granddaughter, friend and most importantly, a mother. Her world revolved around Matias, filling her life with love, hope, and faith. Mayra’s dedication to her son was unwavering; she adored him and always wanted the best for him.

During Mat’s first year, Mayra balanced the demands of motherhood while working from home. When that was no longer possible, she made the courageous decision to become a full-time stay-at-home mom. Tragically, just weeks after this decision, on Matias’s first birthday, Mayra was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma. Despite the pain and challenges, she fought valiantly, exploring every possible treatment with the hope of being there for her son.

Mayra’s desire to live for Matias was unyielding, and she gave everything she had in her battle against cancer. Funeral arrangements have been taken care of by her family at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in Rowland Heights CA. In lieu of gifts for the family, should you wish to honor her memory with a contribution, any funds collected will be placed in a trust for her beloved son, Matias. Your generosity will help ensure that Matias has the opportunities and support that Mayra always dreamed of for him.
