Mike and Mara shared a beautiful journey of love and companionship for 15 years. Together, they built a life of mutual respect, affection, and unyielding support. Their bond was further enriched by the presence of Stella, their beloved German Sheppard, who brought additional warmth and joy into their lives. Mara and Stella have lost a partner, their better half, and their companion, and the void left by Mike's absence is immeasurable.

On that tragic morning, Mike was on working security duty at Pickering Casino Resort, committed to ensuring the safety and security of others, when an armed group entered the casino. He stood his ground with unwavering bravery, a testament to the strength of his character. Despite the efforts of emergency responders and medical professionals, Mike succumbed to his injuries.

Mike was genuine in all his interactions. He cared deeply about making a positive difference in the lives of others and was known for bringing a warm, uplifting energy and smile to any room. His untimely departure has left us with a mix of grief and gratitude - grief for his absence and gratitude for the privilege of having known such a remarkable soul.
