In Loving Memory of my Beautiful Abuelita Inesita

My Grandma, Silvia Ines Daviglus, was one of the most influential women in my life. Despite enduring lifelong illnesses and immense pain, she never complained. Even in the toughest times, she kept a smile on her face, cracked jokes, and showed love.
I grew close to my abuela from a young age. She raised me like a second mother, offering unwavering support and love, especially after my father passed away. At just 7 years old, she helped me navigate my grief, teaching me how to cope with emotions and grow into a strong young woman.
As I got older, my abuela’s health slowly declined. In January 2024, she fell at my aunt’s house, and we later learned she had fractured her sacrum. By June, after I graduated high school, I visited her in Orlando and saw just how much her health had worsened. She needed help with most daily tasks, so I decided to stay with her. My plan was to work during the summer and start college in January, but things took a turn.
By the end of June, my mom and I brought her to Georgia in hopes of improving her health. But after two days, her strength began to fail. Since then, my mom and I have been her full-time caretakers, unable to work. In September, we spent much of the month in the ICU after three major health scares. Despite our hopes, her condition worsened, and by December, she was in severe pain and unresponsive. We moved her to a hospice home, where she passed away peacefully in the early morning of December 21st, free of pain.
I will forever be grateful for the love and strength she gave me. I’m now asking for help with funeral expenses, as my mom and I haven’t been able to work during this time. Any support would be appreciated so we can give my abuela the beautiful service and headstone she deserves.
