In Loving Memory of my Mother, Noelia Mora Sosa

My name is Vanessa Landa. My mother, who was only 50 years of age, unexpectedly passed away on March 28, 2023, due to complications of an open heart surgery that lasted over 10 hours. With my mother not being legally married to my stepfather and him not speaking English, I, at the age of 20, a full-time college student, have become her personal representative. I never thought I would be going through something like this, especially with having to make all of the decisions. Having to arrange a funeral service to give my mother a proper burial service has put me in a position to ask for any monetary assistance from anyone that can help. Any amount is greatly appreciated, as my family and I were not financially prepared for this great loss. It is crucial for us to raise money as soon as possible so that my mother can be put to rest peacefully. The hospital, only giving us 2 days to arrange services, has put tremendous stress on my family and I. Your donations will support my stepfather, my brother, and I.

My mother was the glue that held our family together and the light of our lives. She was the best mother anyone could have ever asked for. She filled lives with joy, laughter, and love. Everyone who knew my mother would describe her as being a funny, hardworking, genuine, loving, caring, and welcoming human being. My mother spent most of her life caring for and nurturing my brother and I while trying to help my stepfather by working early in the morning. Despite her heart disease progressing, she continued to protect her family the best she could. She would get home from work extremely tired with shortness of breath but happy to be home to spend time with her family.

The morning of March 28th, she was extremely scared to undergo surgery, but what comforted her was that her surgeon told her she could live another 25 years. A surgery that should have lasted 6 hours ended up being 10 hours. After questioning what happened, I discovered that other procedures were done without my consent. Sadly, she passed away, not knowing she would never wake up again. My mother was young, and she most feared one day leaving my brother and I alone. Now that my mother is no longer with us, we are left with broken pieces to put together. With this said, from the bottom of my heart, I ask for any donations.
