In Loving Memory of Nicholas (Nick) Tyree

On March 31, 2023 Nick Tyree was driving on his lunch break when he was hit by an oncoming vehicle that crossed the center line. Tragically and suddenly Nick lost his life. He was just 40 years old.

Nick's mother, Teri Matthews is a Knife River team member in our Tangent office. Nick has been a team member at Knife River Prestress in Harrisburg since 2019. He was inspirational to both his fellow team-members and coaches. A hard worker, he advanced from a level-1 to a level-4 and often worked in a leadership capacity. His devotion to the company was obvious when he had 40 Knife River beanies made, paid for them with his own money and handed them out to his Knife River Prestress crew. He had an amazing sense of humor that was refreshing on rough days. This devastating loss is felt in hearts throughout our Knife River family. Nick is greatly missed.

Nick was a fun-loving, outgoing and friendly guy who spent his free time fishing and surrounded by family including his children: Shaine (21), Skylar (18), Savanna (18), Corbin (18), Destiny (17), Kameron (13), Ashton (8); and stepchildren Sam (24), Jaydon (18), Adrian (17), Payton (6). All of whom he deeply loved and spoke of often.

Funds raised will be used for funeral service costs and support of Nick's family. Thank you for your generosity as they navigate through this heartbreaking time.
