In Loving Memory of Our Father Anthony John Sekli

On November 25th 2024, our father lost his battle with a rare and aggressive form of cancer. As someone who has battled brain cancer 7 years ago and has been cancer free since, has struggled with other health issues that has affected him cognitively and has had the worst luck with finding consistent employment. When he found out the news over the past few months that he had a rare and very aggressive form of bone cancer (Dedifferentiated Chondrosarcoma) he was devastated and despite the news he never gave up hope and he battled as much as he could before we were able to grant his last wish to die in the comfort of his home.
My dad has always been a family first type of man, he was always so happy around me and my brother and loved coaching us in hockey growing up and made us into the die hard Leafs fans that we are today. He always taught us to be tough, resilient and to not take any crap from anyone. Looking back into old photos it made me realize how much family time meant to him and to capture every little moment together. Unfortunately he wont be able to see us get married and have kids of our own someday, but his memory will forever live on and I know that he will always be watching over us.
These time have been difficult for me and my family, as we lost the glue that held us together. We have always struggled financially and having the cost of the funeral upon us as well as to pay off the remaining debt that my father has left behind it has put a strain on our lives. I am not open nor comfortable with selling off his belongings as that is all that I and my family have left of him. I myself have not been to work much because of the mental stress that I have been through the past month and I know my brother and aunt have been through the same as me.
I've never been one to ask strangers for money, because I would like to do whatever I can and not have to rely on anyone else to help me but we can really use peoples help with this difficult time.
We need help covering:
Cremation, Urn, Chapel Service, and Unpaid Debts.
Any little bit helps, every single dollar is truly appreciated by me and my family. I have attached his obituary if anyone would like to take a read, there is also a donation available on his obituary for the Verspeeten Family Cancer Centre in London Ontario if anyone would like to donate to them.
He believed that everything happens for a reason, the good and even the bad. I just want to carry on his legacy and make him proud.
