So, here we go again - 4th time lucky?

Welcome to our gofundme page, this has been setup to raise money for Olivia (9) and Tommy's (7) trust fund accounts who heartbreakingly lost their loving mum on 16th June 2019.

My auntie Vicki sadly lost her life at 39 years old to mucinous carcinoma cancer which was incurable, so in her memory we would love to be able to raise money for the future of her two beautiful children.

As many of you will know, in April 2020 I was due to run the Brighton marathon. Due to the pandemic, the marathon was cancelled and postponed a handful of times - what I originally thought was 3, but realised today that it’s now my 4th attempt to complete the marathon and not just the training for it!! Whatever happens, I will be running the marathon on Sunday 10th April 2022.

My amazing mum completed the Brighton half marathon in February 2020 just before the pandemic hit, but has set herself the challenge to complete it again this year on Sunday 27th February 2022 and I couldn’t be more proud. 

This is going to be a huge challenge mentally and physically, but I have been here before and have a little bit of knowledge on what to expect throughout the training. It’s going to get tougher than it already is, running is still my least favourite form of fitness, my mind will tell me to stop before my body does, there’s always more in the tank to give, rest & recovery is just as important as training. BUT the reason for running the marathon hasn’t changed and never will. Our brightest star in the sky will be in our minds throughout all the training.

We are beyond grateful to everyone who donated in 2020, and really would appreciate any other donations over the coming months. 

So this is it, the countdown has started and I have 98 days to go! The comeback is stronger than the setback!
