In Loving Memory of Rachel-Marie Thomas

Hello this is Kevin and Lindsay from What's Brewin' Cafe,

We'd like to take the time to help raise money in honor of one of our first employee-turned-friends Rachel-Marie Thomas.

For those of you who may not know Rachel from recent years she was with us from 2017 - 2021. She is the namesake of the signature "Rachel Delight"!

Rachel was our longest tenured employee being with our coffee shop over 5 years. When you work with someone 5-6 days a week, the bond naturally grows. We got to know so much about Rachel on a professional level, but so much more on a personal level. All her whacky quirks, music tastes, hobbies, and love for people. She would constantly talk about her family, Kelly, Todd, and Ali it felt as if we were extended family!

She was such a kind soul, caring for others before herself. Who else would bring home left over dinner for their bosses to enjoy the next day?! We used to think it should be the other way around, but that was Rachel!

She always made friends with so many customers, who in return became friends with the rest of us at the coffee shop. I joked with Rachel years ago that she'd have to move far away if she ever wanted to leave What's Brewin'.

We were so happy for her to begin her next journey in Cumberland, MD. With her Fiance Kai by her side we knew it'd be an amazing next chapter. We still remember the day she got engaged, being her work-dad, we got the text, "you were right, I got engaged!".

Though that journey has been cut short, we know how much she loved her life down there settling her roots with Kai, and their fur baby Cleo.

The saying the good die young only begins to describe Rachel. Having been born premature, losing her father, to being diagnosed with diabetes. Nothing stopped Rachel. Everyday was a gift, and she lived life to the fullest.

Here's to Rachel. We know you're up in Heaven rocking your finest Stevie Nicks outfit, jamming out to your favorite Pigeons album. Fly high, girl!
