In Loving Memory of Robin Flowers
Donation protected
On August 17, 2023, our beloved Robin Flowers was released from her physical body and was undoubtedly lovingly greeted by her father and mother. Robin was strong-willed, stubborn, witty, independent, and cared deeply for her family and those in her inner circle. For decades, she was an integral part of San Diego College of Continuing, attending countless DSPS classes at the Educational Cultural Complex. Anyone who went to ECC, knew Robin.
Robin loved writing and was even published in We Learn: Women's Perspectives, something that brought her much pride. She was also a fierce advocate and part of San Diego People First, a self-advocacy group for people with disabilities. She seized the opportunity to be a presenter and put together a session entitled, "Be True to Yourself and Succeed."
When Robin was diagnosed with cancer, she exceeded doctors' expectations, went into remission, and when it returned, she fought hard. Earlier this year, when she was put into hospice, her sister, Darchelle, dropped everything she was doing, in order to move from Texas to San Diego in order to care for and provide non-stop care for her sister. Now with Robin's passing, her sister has the daunting task of cleaning out Robin's apartment, as well as planning and paying for Robin's burial and funeral service. There was very little left to cover expenses and the burden of how to pay for the exorbitant costs to honor Robin's final wishes is overwhelming.
Any support, financial, prayers, spreading the word, would be greatly appreciated. All funds will go directly to Darchelle to pay for casket, plot, and funeral services. If we could lift Darchelle up and show Robin's family how much she meant to us during this difficult time, I know Robin will be smiling down on us. Thank you for your time, contributions, and for caring about Robin.
