In loving memory of Roger Loring

The Caledonia Fighting Scots Community is grappling with the loss of a home-grown legend. I think his veins even ran purple and gold! In addition to his legacy as a dedicated father, brother, uncle, cousin, and incredible friend, he has often been referred to by many as Big Rog, Santa Claus, Game Manager, DPW Manager, Snow Remover, Mr. Caledonia, Hometown Hero, and/or Grand Marshal. He earned each one of these reputations!

Roger was larger than life…and he fought hard too. He had a BIG selfless heart and never passed up an opportunity to lend a helping hand to anyone.

His legacy is one of kindness, generosity, and making a positive impact wherever he went. Rog's tireless dedication to our community left an indelible mark, helping to shape Caledonia into the vibrant and caring place it is today. He was a source of strength and inspiration, always ready with a kind word and a helping hand; and his daily inspirational posts on social media uplifted us all.

Rog’s daughter Nicki is his pride and joy; and while he selflessly devoted himself to the betterment of Caledonia schools, sports, and the community as a whole, Nicki stood right by his side, embodying his spirit of service and kindness. She has also tirelessly cared for Rog in recent years as they battled through his health challenges.

This initiative is an opportunity for us to come together as a community, just as Rog did his entire life, to provide essential support for his daughter and honor his inspirational legacy. Your contributions will not only help alleviate her financial burden of funeral and other related expenses, but will also serve as a testament to the profound impact Roger had on all of us.
