Support Sachina Shrestha, after a tragic accident in Canada
Donation protected
Dear Supporters,
I am organizing this fundraiser in memory of Sachina Shrestha, a Nepalese student at Fanshawe College in London, Ontario. Sachina was the beloved daughter of Chiranjibi Shrestha, and her untimely passing has left us all deeply devastated.
About Sachina
Sachina was a bright and ambitious 22-year-old who came to Canada to pursue her dreams. Known for her kindness, dedication, and a radiant smile, she touched the lives of everyone around her. Her sudden loss has created an irreplaceable void in the hearts of her family and friends.
The Incident
On December 8, 2024, at around 8 PM, Sachina was crossing the road at a zebra crossing on a foggy evening when a pick-up truck struck her. She was immediately rushed to Victoria Hospital in London, Ontario, by ambulance along with police officials. Despite the driver remaining on-site and cooperating with authorities, Sachina sustained severe injury to the head, which caused the brain to swell ultimately leading to removal of her right bone flap from her skull to minimize the damage to the brain.
She was kept alive on a ventilator while the hospital staff worked tirelessly to stabilize her condition. Her parents, after overcoming significant hurdles in securing a visa from Nepal, arrived in Canada on December 25, 2024. Sachina was removed from the ventilator and declared deceased at 8 PM on Thursday, December 26, 2024.
Purpose of This Fundraiser
This fundraiser aims to support Sachina’s grieving family during this challenging time. The funds will be used to:
Cover funeral and memorial service costs
Provide immediate financial support to her parents
Address legal and administrative expenses related to the accident
Her funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at 11:30 AM at AMG Funeral Home, London, Ontario.
