In Loving Memory of Saiaiga Tauiliili

When you wish your loved ones “Safe Travels” knowing without a doubt they’ll return home safely… That safe home is a huge understated blessing…
Talofa, my name is Elizabeth Tauiliili. I’m the eldest grandchild of Imakulata Tauiliili, Sa’s mother. I am writing on behalf of my family who is at lost for words right now as we mourn for our brother, uncle, son, father and friend. I don’t even know where to start. I’m literally in tears right now as the words “Love you Niece” replay in my head. I never pictured myself writing this for someone I’ve always looked up to as one of father figures in my life. On June 21st, I got a phone call that nobody ever wants to hear. Uncle Sa got into a fatal car accident and he didn’t make it. He was driving home from spending Fathers Day weekend with his daughters in Colorado. Sa left behind two beautiful daughters, Alathea Tauiliili, 15, and Natalia Tauiliili, 7, who currently reside in Colorado. He leaves behind his mother, his brothers and sisters, his nieces and nephews, cousins and so much more. If you know Sa, you know he’s the Life of the Party. Always there with his guitar in hand and a beer in the other. We will forever cherish the memories you left us with. Your contagious smile will forever stay with us.
My family and I are at a loss for words right now, as this came at such an unexpected time. But when is it ever the right time? Loss is a part of life, but knowing that doesn’t make it any easier. The death of loved ones often takes its toll on those left behind, and at times it can feel like grief is never ending. For some, like my family, an important part of the healing process comes with Scriptures, and so, I leave this with you all, Romans 14:8, “If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord”
Sa, our Beloved Sa. Until that one sweet day… Til We Meet Again, Manui lau Malaga
