In Loving Memory of Senthil Selvam
Donation protected
Dear friends,
We are very saddened to inform you of the untimely passing of our dear friend, brother Senthil Selvam by a massive heart attack on Dec 31, 2020 in Chennai, India. Senthil's funeral service took place on Jan 1 2021. He is survived by his wife Vijayashri, their unborn child (due in two weeks), his parents, and his sister.
Senthil's kindness, compassion, and selflessness were an inspiration to all who knew him, and he brightened the lives of everyone he touched. Senthil, who many of us knew as “Buddy”, was always helping those around him without even asking.
His passing has left a deep pain and void in all of our lives, but none will feel his absence more than Viji and their unborn child. Many of us who were inspired by Senthil's selflessness and kindness are looking for ways to help in this difficult time; while most are unable to travel due to Covid-19, we can all give in other ways to support his family. I would like to invite you to join me in contributing to a fund which will help to support his family.
Senthil has always brought cheer and goodness in our lives. Please consider donating what you can - either now or in the future - to his family's GoFundMe. And please share this message with your friends and family who were similarly touched by his compassion and kindness.
Update 1/2/21:
We're truly humbled by the incredible outpouring generosity and kindness that everyone has demonstrated. Thank you so much! In the interest of transparency, we'd like to provide some additional information about how donated funds will be used. With this in mind:
1. The organizer: The organizer, Praveen Yerramalla, lives in Edison, NJ with his wife Janani and their daughter Nirvi. Senthil, Vijayashri (Senthil's wife), Praveen and Janani worked in TCS together for 13 years. Senthil and Vijayashri lived near Praveen and his family for years and they are like god parents to Nirvi. When Senthil had to travel to INDIA for few months, Vijayashri lived with Praveen's family. Senthil and Vijayashri had to return to India in January 2020 because of visa issues. This campaign is being organized by Senthil’s near and dear friends lead by Organizer, Praveen Yerramalla.
2. The funds: All funds raised through this GoFundMe campaign will be turned over to Senthil's wife for her use as she sees fit to raise their child, who is due to be born in mid-January. When this initiative concludes, the organizer, Praveen Yerramalla, will withdraw all the funds and use a bank transfer service to transfer them to Vijayashri’s bank account. A full accounting of all funds withdrawn and transferred will be posted to this GoFundMe initiative as an update once it is complete.
