In loving memory of Shane Nguyen

Please be aware that this fundraiser is the ONLY means of fundraising authorized and approved by the Nguyen family.  This fundraiser is being organized by myself, Tran Hoang, cousin of Don Nguyen, wife of Shane Nguyen and beneficiary of the funds raised.

This GoFundMe is to provide relief for Shane Nguyen's family after a horrific act of violence took his life.

Shane was a loving father, husband, and a beloved member of every community he touched. His work days were spent serving food to the public, working long hours out of a roaming food truck while waving and smiling to those he passed on the road. His spare time was dedicated to his family and to volunteering activities, where he was an active member of the local church, choir, and Bishop Dwenger band. He'll always be remembered for being kind, welcoming, and available to help anyone in need.

On Friday, April 23, 2021, 55-year-old Shane Nguyen was reported missing. His family, friends, and the amazing Bishop Dwenger community rallied to find him and a statewide Silver Alert was declared overnight. Hours later, early Sunday morning, the police found him dead inside a vehicle that crashed in Fort Wayne. His death was the result of a violent crime. Shane was just two days shy of his 56th birthday.

While we are still trying to process details of the senseless violence that took Shane's life, we are somewhat comforted to know that all three suspects wanted in connection with his passing have been arrested and are in police custody. We hope that these individuals are brought to justice.

I am Shane's cousin and am starting this GoFundMe on behalf of Shane's loving wife and two sons, Ethan (20) and Noah (17). Shane was a small business owner and the primary source of income for his family. His family is devastated by this tragedy and are struggling to piece their lives together amidst the investigations and preparations for the funeral.

We are appealing for aid to help Shane's wife and sons deal with the crippling financial effects of this tragedy. All funds will go directly to Shane's immediate family.

Shane's family would sincerely like to thank everyone that provided information on the possible whereabouts of the suspects and we sincerely thank the Fort Wayne Police Department who responded quickly to the scene as well as our family, friends, and community for their ongoing support, thoughts, and prayers during this difficult time.
