In loving memory of Shannon Sime
Donation protected
It is with great sadness we share the passing of Shannon Sime. Shannon was wife to Scott and mother to 6 weeks old Harlow and loved by anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Shannon had an infectious personality that made an impact on everyone she met. She was always positive and found the good in every situation. She loved doing things for others whether it be volunteering at a homeless shelter on Christmas Day or cutting the hair of women affected by domestic violence she felt better when helping others.
Shannon and Scott came to Australia almost 10 years ago and set up a wonderful life for themselves in Adelaide, living the Aussie dream. Seeking different adventures they moved to Melbourne in 2019 and then onto Gold Coast.
On 22nd June Shannon gave birth to beautiful baby Harlow; a new chapter in their lives and a new adventure for her and Scott to take on together. A young couple with their first baby the world was at their feet and they couldn’t wait to watch their little girl grow up and show her the world.
On August 5th Scotts world fell apart when Shannon took a stroke at the tender ago of 29 and despite excellent care from the hospital staff she passed away on Monday 8th August.
Shannon had a zest for life and fitted more into her 29 years than the rest of us could manage in a lifetime. She had a passion for adventure and travelling, something her and Scott wanted to share with Harlow as she grew up.
Even after the tragic loss of Shannon,
Scott and her family provided the ultimate gift of life by donating her organs and giving a second chance to 5 people who were in desperate need of help.
As a widower to a new born baby, Scott will not be able to work for the foreseeable future. Any support we can provide to him and his beautiful daughter will go a long way in helping them cope with their tragic loss as they learn to live without their beautiful wife and mother.
If we can learn anything from this situation it has to be to hug your loved ones a little bit longer and that little bit tighter, tell them you love them and go find your next adventure because none of us know what day will be our last.
