It is with a heavy heart that I find myself with the duty of organizing a GoFundMe for someone so close to me. Asking for help isn't easy. Shawn was not a man that would ask another man for much if anything at all. Shawn would not want the burden of this situation to be left to his wife Trisha, his children, and his mother, Mary.

Shawn was a devoted father and family man. He took great pride and joy in raising his children with his high school sweetheart, his wife, Trisha. He was at every single softball game wearing the team shirt with the kid's number on the back. He was at every motor cross meet and made Shawn Jr. a track on their land to practice and develop his skills. Ryder was with him when he wasn't with his Momma, and he saw Trinity as often as he could. Ekko made Shawn a grandfather to two precious girls. Those two little girls brought out the softest side of Shawn and he loved to see them and spend time with them. They stole his heart. Shawn loved his Momma! Oh my gosh, if ever you could see that big man submit to anyone, it was her. Probably only her.
Shawn was a good friend if he considered you a friend. Those that knew him well and were close to him would not be of the thin-skinned sort, and would probably share the same sarcastic quick-witted humor. This is where the nickname Superman originated, being everyone's superhero. For me, he was more like a brother, standing beside me through some of the worst days. In those moments I got to see the heart of the individual that most probably didn't ever see. The heart for his family.

If you have questions, please reach out to me. I can be your point of contact at this time as the rest of the family is not ready to have the hard conversations. They may not ever be. I ask that they be given the time and space necessary to grieve the loss of the man that Shawn was to them, as we all grieve the man he was to each of us.

All funds raised will be used at the sole discretion of his wife for memorial purposes and continued support as they navigate through his difficult time.
