IN LOVING MEMORY OF SHAWN KILLIAN

Shawn Killian was a dedicated father, son, and brother, with a host of loving relatives and friends. Shawn will be missed immensely.

Shawn, age 34 years was always ready for a game of basketball. At the age of 4, he was already playing hoops with his grandfather and cousin Nick in the back yard.

Shawn was raised by his mother who worked tirelessly before retiring as a Traffic and Security Sergeant for the Los Angeles Airport Police Department. His mother was a law enforcement professional. Her focus was to provide a service of excellence maintaining safety first, for all concerned. She passed her safety first focus onto her son, Shawn who worked for a towing company providing tow service for the California Highway Patrol. Unfortunately, when you are playing your favorite sport, you are only focused on winning the game. He perhaps never gave thought to what the consequence would be should he win.

On January 14, 2024, in the morning hour, Shawn played his final game. He didn't see it coming. He was shot 3 times after playing a pickup neighborhood basketball game. Shawn was taken by ambulance to a nearby Hospital in Torrance, California where he later passed away.

What would be the odds that he would become a victim of what his mother had fought against for so many years. Surely, it was difficult to imagine that her son would be fatally wounded after playing a game of basketball that he loved so well.

The funds collected will be used for Shawns' funeral, memorial services and to establish an education fund for his 6-year-old son, who is asking why his dad had to go to Jesus. He wants to go to church, to ask God to please give his dad back to him.

You're surrounded by many difficulties. You're tempted to just settle right where you are. YOU NEED TO GET YOUR FIRE BACK! Instead of focusing on how big your problems are, focus on how big your GOD is. He is everything you need. HE is the GREAT I AM, and he is the one leading and guiding you into victory in every area of your life! Psalm 1
