We are incredibly saddened to learn that our colleague and friend Leighton Willams tragically lost his 19-year-old son Shaheem Williams to a senseless unprovoked killing in Jamaica on Sunday, 29th January 2023.
Shaheem was 19 years old. He was a son, a brother, a cousin, and a friend to all who were lucky enough to know him.
He aspired to be a musician and recently started writing and recording his songs. As the eldest son, he took this role seriously and recognized his ability to be an upstanding role model to his younger brothers. He was a good kid who wasn't interested in getting himself in trouble or caught up in negativity. He was a very stylish kid with a flair for putting outfits together and was very popular among his peers.
He leaves behind his mother, father, four siblings,
Shaheem's father, Leighton, is a proud and dedicated parent of five boys. If in his presence, the conversations would always revolve around his love and plans and his desire to create a pathway for them all to live happy successful lives. This plan included the wish to reunite them and eventually live together in the USA.
We are all devastated by Shaheems tragic and unexpected loss, and the family is unprepared for the high funeral service cost. Therefore, we want to give Shaheem and the family memorial he deserves, honor his memory and say our last goodbyes.
Please consider donating to help his family during this challenging time. Service arrangements will be updated once set up. Thank you.
