In Loving Memory of Song Thao Yang

Donation protected
Song “Oo” Thao Yang was our angel on earth. She was the most genuine, kind, giving, loving and gentle soul. Her heart and love for others was immeasurable and her life was dedicated to her family, friends, and community.

Song was admitted to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Milwaukee, WI the week of December 13, 2021 after contracting COVID-19, although being fully vaccinated. After a difficult battle with COVID-related health complications and intubation, she departed our world on December 17, 2021 at 5:40pm to take her place as an angel in heaven alongside her mother, Pang Yang Thao, and her son, Joseph Yang.

Song was born in Laos to Pang Yang Thao and Xay Chong Thao on March 15, 1958. She was the second oldest of five daughters (sisters: Mang, Chao, Sarah and Mollie). She married Xao Yee Yang on January 1, 1978 and had two children, Joseph Yang (passed away in 2019), and Bao Kou Yang.

The loss of our extraordinary and beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, friend, and confidante has been heartbreaking and devastating as she was so deeply loved and cherished. Her spirit will continue to live on through the hearts, minds, and lives of everyone she has touched. She is survived by her loving husband, Xao Yee Yang, daughter Bao Kou Yang Xiong, and son-in-law Abraham Xiong, and her grandchildren.

In remembrance of Song, we greatly appreciate any contribution you can make to help with her funeral expenses. 100% of the funds will go directly to her family and used to cover the costs of funeral arrangements, memorial materials, and burial services. Thank you so much.

“In these moments of heartbreaking grief, I remember the only reason we have an empty space is because we were blessed with someone who loved us so beautifully it occupied an entire part of our soul.”

“In tears we saw you sinking,
we watched you fade away.
You faced your task with courage,
Your spirit did not bend.
God saw you getting tired,
When a cure was not to be.
So he put his arms around you,
And whispered “come to me.”
So when we saw you sleeping,
so peaceful and free from pain,
we could not wish you back,
To suffer that again.
Always will you be remembered,
and forever deeply missed,
By all your precious loved ones,
family and friends.”

“We little knew that morning that
God was going to call your name.
In life we loved your dearly,
In death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
You did not go alone.
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.
You left us peaceful memories,
Your love is still our guide.
And though we cannot see you,
You are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken,
And nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.”
