In Loving Memory of Thomas "GolD" Luna

On September 26, 2024, the world lost an amazing son, brother, and friend.

Thomas Luna was a junior at Warren High School in San Antonio, Texas. He joined Warren High School Esports his freshman year. In Smash Ultimate, he started as a Little Mac main, but into his junior year had started playing Lucas and Sonic.

He loved Sonic 06, and would constantly try to get people to play anything other than Smash Ultimate. He especially loved playing Project Plus at Ozone as a side event.

His Esports coach at Warren, Coach Smith, recalls fond memories of Thomas: "One of my favorite memories was he accidentally was the best person on our Mario kart team and we lost qualifiers by one point. I asked him why he never told me how good he was at Mario Kart and he just said “you never asked”. He drank a cup of green salsa that day—I think to make us all laugh."

"He was quiet if you didn’t know him, but I talked to him every day for two and a half years. He really liked Kingdom Hearts, and we spoke about it often. The last thing he sent me was a fanart of two of his favorite characters."

Thomas was loved by his Esports team at Warren among countless others.
