In Loving Memory of Umashankar Bandi – A Fundraising Appeal

Dear Friends and Community,

We are heartbroken to share the tragic news of the sudden passing of our beloved friend and colleague, Umashankar Bandi, on May 31, 2024. Umashankar suffered a stroke while hiking and later passed away due to cardiac arrest. His passing has left us all in shock and deep sorrow.

Umashankar was a man of extraordinary athleticism, participating in Olympic qualifiers in rowing, and an avid marathon runner who completed countless half and full marathons. He had a passion for hiking and had conquered many sections of the Appalachian Trail. It was during one of these hikes that he experienced the heart attack, a testament to his adventurous spirit and love for the great outdoors.

Beyond his athletic achievements, Umashankar was a devoted family man. He leaves behind his loving wife, Pushpa, and their two young children, Rohit (19) and Chethana (11). He was also a caring brother to his sisters and a beloved son to his parents. His family was his world, and he worked tirelessly to provide for them and ensure their happiness.

Umashankar was a pillar of our community, always at the forefront of charitable activities and community events. His warmth, kindness, and generosity touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His sudden loss has created a void that is deeply felt by all of us.

In this difficult time, we are reaching out to you for support. We have created this fundraising campaign to help Pushpa and her children navigate through this challenging period. Your contributions will go towards:

Funeral Expenses: Covering the costs of the Hospital, funeral and memorial services to honor Umashankar’s life.

Children’s Education: Setting up a fund to support the educational needs of Rohit and Chethana, ensuring they can pursue their dreams and achieve their full potential, just as their father would have wanted.
