In loving memory of Valerie Young. Memorial fund.

For those who know me, you are aware that these past few years have been an up and down rollercoaster ride. For those who don't; here is a little background:

My mom was diagnosed with two different forms of breast cancer in 2017. In 2018 I moved back to Ottawa to be closer and to help support mom through the process. Although these past few years seem like a blur of doctors appointments, chemotherapy, radiation treatments, surgeries and countless time spent in and out of the hospital, mom proved that she was a fighter.

In May of 2021, we again found out that her latest surgery was unsuccessful. We were informed that there were no more treatment options, and her care team would be changing focus to pain and symptom management. Trying to keep mom comfortable during her final months was a difficult task. We are so thankful for the support we received from the Champlain LHIN and Elisabeth Bruyere hospital during this time. Mom lost her fight on March 5th, 2022. With myself and my sister by her side, mom took her final breath.

We want to honor moms' final wishes, which unfortunately come at a cost that we cannot afford. Worrying about finances during this time has been very difficult on the family. Any donations will be greatly appreciated.

Rest in peace, mom. You will be missed by many!
