In Loving Memory of Vandel Barnes
update: There is no date for funeral but when there is i will put on here. It will be after new year. Thank you
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Vandel Barnes on 28th November 2024, at the young age of 41, due to a sudden cardiac arrest. His passing was unexpected and has left his family, friends, and all who loved him in shock and deep grief.
To honour Vandel’s memory and give him the best possible send off, his partner, Sam, and his mother, Michelle, have set up this memorial fund. For those who wish to contribute, please know that there is no obligation give as much or as little as you feel comfortable with. This fund is here to make things easier for those who have asked to help, allowing everyone to support in one place rather than going through individuals.
Vandel was a beloved partner of almost nine years, a proud father to four children, a devoted stepfather to three, and a cherished grandfather to two grandchildren. As the eldest sibling and cousin, he was the rock of his family, always loyal and honest. Vandel had a larger than life personality, with no filter at times, but he always spoke from the heart. Though he may not have always been well behaved in his younger years (Don't get it twisted his mum wasn't having it) he grew into a loving family man who adored those closest to him.
He had a passion for football and was a proud Manchester United fan. He also loved boxing and often spoke highly of Daniel Dubois and Moses Itauma, believing they were destined for greatness. Vandel was a ‘music entrepreneur’ as he put it and loved all kinds of music and was a massive talk sport listener. For those who knew him in his school and football days, Vandel often reminisced about those times with laughter and joy, calling them some of the best years of his life.
Vandel’s warmth, humor, and loyalty left an impression on everyone who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. His passing has brought us together in grief, but also in love, as we remember the incredible person he was.
On Vandel’s day of rest, we hope all who knew and loved him can come together to pay their respects. While the funeral date is not yet confirmed, we invite everyone to wear a touch of blue his favourite colour in his honour.
As his family, we are overwhelmed by the love and support from everyone who has reached out. Thank you for standing by us during this time. Your generosity not only helps us honor Vandel’s memory but also reminds us how loved and cherished he was by so many.
Let’s come together, not just to say goodbye, but to celebrate the incredible person Vandel was and the legacy he leaves behind.
