In Loving Memory of Vaughn Anthony Brynford Khan

Hi all ♡ I'm fundraising on behalf of my friend Lizz Khan, who suddenly and tragically lost their father Vaughn to a very aggressive and incurable renal cell carcinoma with metastasis to his brain and lungs. In short, metastatic brain cancer.

Words from Lizz:

On June 29th 2024 he lost part of his vision and almost endured a car accident. Leaving him with no other option but to be driven by a coworker and admitting himself to the nearest hospital which was Credit Valley Hospital. His cognitive status had rapidly and drastically declined after his first full brain radiation treatment, in which the cancer that was in other parts of his body continued to spread. Leading to his left side of brain enduring a haemorrhagic tumour and with a weight bearing right side. Re: his right side of his body was paralyzed and unable to function. Due to this, the oncologist's very difficult decision was that he was too weak to move forward with immunotherapy. Vaughn’s prognosis of short months with no further cancer treatment, was shocking and unbearable with little to no time to say goodbye.

On October 20th 2024 around 2:15am he passed away peacefully in his sleep.

The last 4 months have been extremely challenging for my family and I. This fundraiser would help with the exorbitant funeral costs, the memorial costs, and allow for the proper time and space to heal and deal with the immense grief and loss we are facing.

Due to the circumstances Lizz Khan and her sister Melissa Dias become primary caregivers, leaving their work without any stable income since June. Some of the money would help Lizz’s sister Melissa who is a single mom with a 16 year old daughter named Kiara Celeste Dias Johnson. The rest would go towards allowing Lizz and Melissa to mourn and grieve their late father who was a provider for their livelihoods.
