In Loving Memory of Victor Akintola
Donation protected
Our beloved Victor Akintola recently passed away unexpectedly on September 25, 2023, due to a medical emergency while he was in the hospital. Victor was a wonderful son, brother, and friend who has touched the lives of those around him.
We were not prepared for the high cost of a funeral home and funeral expenses. We want to give Victor the memorial he deserves, to honor his memory.
We are currently asking for donations to help cover the cost of Victor’s funeral. We need to raise money at least by Monday, October 2, 2023, in order to be able to afford the funeral expenses.
Please consider donating, this will truly help our family during this difficult time.
He had a condition called Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a genetic medical condition that causes progressive muscle degeneration and weakness due to a lack of dystrophin, a protein that supports muscle cells. It is a progressive neuromuscular disorder that causes a loss of motor, pulmonary, and cardiac function The Duchenne gene is found on the X-chromosome; therefore, it affects mostly males. In rare cases, it also affects females. It affects approximately 1 in every 3,500 live male births. There are approximately 15,000 patients diagnosed with Duchenne alive today in the United States.
He had a tracheostomy and used a ventilator to assist his breathing and had a feeding tube for enteral nutrition and medication needs. He also had to use a manual and motorized wheelchair since he was not able to walk due to the progression of the muscle condition.
Thank you so much and God bless you..
