In Loving Memory of Victoria Dai
Donation protected
Hi, My name is David Yuan and I'm a friend of the Dai family. I learnt the tragedy from the news that some little girl was killed in a car accident Thursday morning near where Dais live, and her last name is Dai. I was like 'That's super sad', but somehow subconsciously I refused to recognize it is actually Victoria.
Victoria is such a lovely girl, full of energy, always ready for action. Like her father, she likes sports and plays soccer. Her teammates and coach absolutely adore her. She is always the first to be on the field. So eager to train and win!
Victoria is smart too. I taught her python coding last summer. A group of boys and girls gathered in my house every week, and I taught them how to make fun games with Python. Victoria is quick to learn, and quick to come up with answers. I can also see she is competitive. She has high standards for herself. I thought to myself, giving her some time, this girl will be something.
She is one of my older daughter's best friends too. The two girls exchange emails and messages all the time. Sometimes I saw my daughter giggling and I knew she must have been chatting with Victoria and perhaps the two are planning for some mischief.
All of it stops on Thursday morning. I don't even know how to comfort her dad and mom. I can't imagine the pain they are going through right now.
But after chatting with her mom, I'm setting this up to raise for her funeral and more importantly Dais want to use what's raised to support girls' soccer game, the team Victoria has been on. After all that's what Victoria loves most.
