It's more than unfortunate on so many fronts that I as his little brother have to share that my brother who I've grown up with, saw go and grow through his various trials and tribulations in life; pass away at the young age of 32. He was tragically slain by way of multiple gunshot wounds where he fought for his life until where paramedics responded to the scene and transported him to the hospital where he ultimately took his last breath at the hospital as he was pronounced deceased.
Wilmer was born in Nicaragua and at the age of 5 emigrated to the United States where we all resided in Annandale, VA. He grew up and was known for being a very social individual, very athletic, and being all around a goofball and just someone that everyone knew and could relate to in one way or another. He was very passionate about sports. Football and most importantly basketball where he excelled the most. As his younger brother, I often found myself under his shadow because of how well-known he was around. For those that knew him truly even at a young age, he was loyal, loving, and willing to do what he could to help with the limited resources he was afforded in life.
Although he made his mistakes, the most important thing in his life was being there for his children, Romelo, Adonis, and Kapri. No matter his situation, he did his absolute best to give his all to be the best father that he could be. Although he is gone, he lives through the lives of his beautiful Children.
I speak for the family as we ask for help to give him a proper funeral built for someone who had an impact on all the lives of those he touched, his kids first, his family and all of his friends and loved ones.
Donations will go directly toward funeral services as well as any additional funds to help support his children who tragically will have to go with their respective lives with the memories, teachings, and ultimately the love that he gave to his children.
As his brother, I hope with the help of all of you who do choose to donate that I can make him proud by celebrating his life and giving him the proper remembrance that he deserved to have while he was alive.
In advance, I want to personally thank every one of you who has reached out to the family and friends of Wilmer and hope that through all of this he's resting in Peace and at home with his grandfather, grandmother, and the rest of our family and his friends that while he was alive he lost as well. Thank you all and God Bless.
