In loving memory of Yiel Gatluak - Taken too soon

Our beloved YIEL Deng Gatluak was born on 1 April 2004 and he was murdered on the 1st of January 2024 in Alice Springs at the age of just 19. Yiel was a wonderful and a loving son, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin and a true friend to many, who touched the lives of those around him. Please, we’re asking you to stretch your hands and join us give-Yoal a burial he deserves and safe his family the stress of finances and give his family time to mourn him properly

His heart was pure and he was always happy and kind to everyone. He treated everyone with so much kindness.

We are all devastated by Yiel’s loss and were not prepared for the high cost of a funeral service. Moreover, we need to transport his body to Melbourne where he was born and raised in order to lay his body to rest at home. We want to give our beloved Yiel the memorial he deserves, to honor his memory and say our last goodbyes.

We are currently asking for donations to help cover the cost of Yiel’s funeral. We need to raise $22,000 in order to meet the expenses of the funeral service and to transport him back to Melbourne.
