In Loving Memory: Wendell Niles, Jr.

The Niles have been showered with an abundance of love and support over the last few days. So many people have reached out to them and I know that each and every phone call, note, social media post and offer to help is sincerely appreciated.
I also know that losing a loved one is always very overwhelming. So, I have decided to step in to help make this outpouring of generosity easier on them by creating a fund in Mr. Niles’ honor. In lieu of flowers, meals or any other generous gesture, please consider contributing to this fund.
If you feel strongly that you want to offer food for Mrs. Niles or the other family members, and since Mrs. Niles will be bouncing between her children's homes, I do not want any of your well-intentioned efforts to go to waste. Instead, please purchase an Uber Eats gift card and send to [email redacted] using the below link:

In closing, I would be remiss if I did not include my own tribute to Mr. Niles, as I have lovingly called him for the past 30+ years. As a young girl, he made a powerful impression on me with his upbeat, vivacious personality, his unmatched generosity and his unique and precious ability to live life to the fullest. What struck me most about him was his sincere, pure love for his wife and each of his children and grandchildren. It was palpable in the tears that would well in his eyes when he talked about his grandchildren, in his unwavering dedication to Nelle, and in the sheer adoration that he showered on his girls. I am lucky enough to be a very close friend to the family and can honestly say that if you knew Mr. Niles as a friend, one his children’s friends, or even a passing stranger, he had a singular ability to make you feel special, welcome and loved. He will be greatly missed by all of those who have been lucky enough to know him. There will be an event hosted by the family in February to commemorate and honor Mr. Niles' life. Details will follow.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions at all about how to help. Thank you all for your help and support!
With love,
Suzy
