In loving support for Tracy's family

Our beloved sister, Tracy Vang, took her last breath the morning of August 2, 2022 while in hospice care and surrounded by her loving family. Tracy was diagnosed with Stage IV Colorectal Adenocarcinoma.
Sixteen years ago, we also lost our mother, Joua Khang (age 30), to Colorectal Cancer. She left behind her husband, Pao Vang, and five children. Our widowed father continued to raise his children alone and did the best he could to provide and care for us siblings.
Unfortunately, in 2018, Pao’s third child, Tracy Vang, was diagnosed with Stage 3 Colorectal Cancer. At the age of 22, Tracy noticed a lump on her body that caused pain and discomfort. Initially, when she visited her doctor to discuss her symptoms and despair, she was told that it was a mass on her left groin. Tracy had undergone an excision and found out that it was a tumor. Shortly after, she started to experience regular bloody stools. This eventually prompted her to get a colonoscopy, and that’s when she was diagnosed with Stage III Colorectal Cancer. Following this diagnosis, Tracy had colon resection surgery completed and underwent many rounds of chemotherapy and treatments in 2019/2020. All of this was significant progress, which allowed her to be cancer free for a year. We had hope until late 2021. Tracy went back for a follow-up and underwent copious amounts of tests. The results of her tests led to a diagnosis of Stage IV Colorectal Adenocarcinoma. In Layman's terms: colon cancer has metastasized/spread. With her routine check-ups, a scan showed that cancer had returned with a vengeance. The cancer had rapidly grown and spread so much in a short timeframe that it took a toll on Tracy’s health. It had metastasized to her left lung, liver, and stomach. Tracy fought hard for her life and tried all she could to beat cancer. Eventually, she couldn't hold on anymore; the cancer had spread too fast. Tracy decided to transition into hospice care, which allowed her to focus on managing her pain and enjoy the time she had left with her family.
As our family continues to grieve and suffer through these difficult times, we kindly reach out for your support with a heavy heart. Your generosity is appreciated and will be used to help cover all funeral expenses.
