In loving support of "Peter" El-Asmar's family
Donation protected
Due to the sudden passing of "Peter"(Mahmoud) El-Asmar, we have created this Gofundme for his surviving wife, Siham, and his three daughters, Mariam, Summer, and Celine, as they navigate the next stage of their lives without his love and support.
On January 12th, Peter underwent surgery to remove colon cancer at Lion's Gate Hospital, resulting in multiple complications, infection, septic shock, and a subsequent clot to his heart and unfortunate heart attack. He was then immediately transferred to St. Paul's Hospital for more surgical intervention and remained in ICU for one week until such time Peter could no longer survive the damage that had occurred. Peter died peacefully with his wife and daughters at his side. Peter loved to spend time with his family, work in his garden and fishing. Peter loved serving his clients at his Hair Salon, Crown Hair Design in Vancouver's West End, and truly valued the connections he had with his clients.
He is well remembered for his kind heart and warm smile. Peter's family would also like to thank St.Paul's for everything they did to keep Peter with them for one more week, before tragically passing away on the morning of January 27th, at the young age of 63.
Peter loved his family more than anything and his dying wish was to be buried in Lebanon alongside his mother, father and two sisters. Peter's wife and daughters wanted to ensure that his final wishes became a reality and that his prayers were answered. Therefore, they arranged last minute flights to Lebanon for the four of them and made funeral arrangements to send Peter's body to Lebanon.
With this Gofundme, we are hoping to raise enough money to help Peter's wife and daughters recover their travel and memorial costs and get back on their feet when they return home to Canada.
Although Peter fought very hard to survive his circumstances, he was at peace knowing he would pass because of his strong faith in God.
