In memory of Brian Harvey & support for his family

Donation protected
Hello my name is Jesse, and with the permission of Brian’s family have put this together on their behalf.

It is with heavy hearts that we must regretfully announce, that on the 25th of June 2022, Brian Harvey passed away suddenly.

Brian was an amazing father and loving husband, who honourably served his country for 17 years. A hardened infantry soldier with the 1st Battalion Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry Regiment, he deployed on multiple domestic and international operations. Sergeant Brian Harvey was instrumental in the development, implementation, and successful reintegration of the 81mm indirect fire support capability for the Infantry. Due for promotion to Warrant Officer, Brian was slated to be the Second-in-Command of the Mortar Platoon in the 3rd Battalion. Sgt Harvey was admired and respected amongst his peers and subordinates. He will forever be remembered amongst those who had the tremendous honour to serve with him.

There are truly no words to describe the void left by his sudden passing. Brian is survived by his loving wife Shirley of 12 years, his parents Denis and Michelle Harvey, and the legacy of four beautiful children; Isabelle (17), Gabrielle (13), Karl (7), and Hannah (6). The loss of Brian has also undeniably impacted his twin brother Kelly, sister-in-law Lisa, and his niece Eva.

Shirley selflessly served just as Brian, supporting the military community in Edmonton through her work at the military family resource centre for 8 years. The considerable grief and shock of such an unexpected loss is traumatic and unbearable. The road ahead is long, and Shirley, their children and those Brian impacted will need to learn to navigate the path ahead in his honour. To support Shirley and the children, all money raised through donation will go towards the execution of Brian’s will and testament, funeral expenses, medical expenses, and general support for the family through this tragedy.

The family requests that if you make a donation and knew Brian personally, please leave respectful commentary sharing memories to add to the legacy. Future information and updates will be provided with the consent of Shirley.

Brian dedicated his life to his family, friends, and his brothers in arms. The commitment of service before self weighs heavily upon those within the defence community.  It weighs even heavier on the families of those who also make tremendous sacrifices supporting loved ones in the service. Please rally as a community in support for his family in such a time of tragedy.

We acknowledge there is no monetary amount that could vanquish the grief of such a tragic loss.

Thank you
